About me

I completed my BSc in Geography at the University of Durham, and then went on to do an MPhil in Polar Science at Cambridge, and a PhD in Environmental Science at Reading. After my PhD I took a postdoctoral research associate role at the University of Exeter, working with Prof. Tim Lenton on ecosystem resilience (my staff page), and where I now hold visiting fellow status at the Global Systems Institute.

I then moved to the University of Derby, where I am an Early Career Academic, researching the role of natural environments in working towards zero carbon. My areas of interest are peatlands, remote sensing, and the impacts of climate change and human land use.

My blog is a combination of my tips for PhD life and beyond, and short posts about different aspects of my work.
